We needed a wifi extender. The broadband in our house has never been fantastic. As we were watching quite a lot of YouTube on TV, the bandwidth had to be good. So we decided to purchase fibre broadband. This purchase would enable us to go from 10MB to up to 70MB and would make viewing a lot more comfortable with the catch-up apps we use.
We like to sit in the garden from April through to September and also want to take our viewing with us. We sit in the garden, would have trouble connecting to the internet. Until enough was enough (and the fact that I was tethering on my old Three phone and that gave up the ghost) and we received a TP-Link AC1750 RE450 WiFi Extender.
We already have TP-Link Repeaters in various places which have never received a signal as well as the living room and back bedroom, and we were used to the brand. But at the time we were also changing over routers as we were having issues. So it was time to sort it all out. We hoped the range extender would work for our laptops. To use my phone to catch up on comedies in the bathroom when I have my showers.
Always buy the right one
The TP-Link AC1750 RE450 WiFi Extender is super easy to set up once you have a decent working internet connection. As we had initially purchased the wrong router, it took us two days to get it connected but once we had the right one, 20 minutes later and we were up and running.
Easy to set up
To set it up attach the plug via an ethernet cable to connect it to your network. Unplug it and plug it in wherever you want it based. So we did. Set it up and plugged it into the conservatory. Hallelujah! We have internet in the garden. It’s also great in the bathroom so I can finally stop downloading programmes via apps and stream them instead. The signal is now consistent now all over the house including the dead zones.
To be honest, I didn’t think this extender would work as we’d tried similar before (an entirely different brand, however) and it had monumentally failed so we didn’t go looking for another one until we saw the one at Amazon and I’m jolly glad we did.
If you want to buy one, they’re available at Amazon UK for just £54.90. Cheap considering all the problems we’ve had trying to get a connection in the garden, but suffer no more!
