If you’re still looking for presents for the females in your life, then take a look at a few of these fab little gifts that I’ve seen which are ideal stocking fillers for young and old alike.
Emoticons. We see them everywhere. Competition entrants at the moment who have been influenced by what is affectionately known as Comping Queens and Kings are using emoticons to the max trying to persuade promoters into parting with their goods so why not give one of these to the female “comper” in your life. Now I’m going to be honest here and say that when I first saw these being advertised, I thought they were a bit tacky. I’d seen a fair few sent to me in PR images from China that looked a little cheap and well, dodgy. I thought they might be just a bit of felt tacked together with just enough filling to puff it out. However, I didn’t realise that we had a company here in the UK that produced a much higher quality of emoticon merchandise. Genuinely whenever I’d seen the ads for them I had bypassed them because I thought they would be the same. But when the lovely PR contacted me and asked me to review a set I was blown away at how lovely they were.
Originally starting out as an idea for the owners teenage daughter, they too stumbled across the emoticon cushions from China, and like me, found the quality to be less than acceptable, but they went further in their quest to provide something of a higher standard by sourcing an ethical factory that did not engage in child labour, unfair pay and overworked employees. They were creating a gift emporium you could trust.
They sell a range of pillows, shelf buddies, key rings and slippers and they are nothing like the majority of photos I’d been sent from Amazon sellers trying to persuade me to review them. The ones from the company Love Bomb Cushions are gorgeous because they’ve made sure that the customers get value for money. I’m not praising them to keep them happy, on the contrary they are genuinely lovely items. The stitching is perfect. It’s not lightly tacked, it’s properly sewn, secured and straight. The labels are also sewn in properly which I always say is the mark of a decent item (the amount of ties I’ve bought for Andy that are supposed to be high quality but have just been tacked together is immense, and I hate that when they just do it so it looks nice but obviously not up to the job).
The cushions are bright yellow (the picture above doesn’t do it justice at all). The fabric is super soft, warm velour and the filling feels as if it’s big wedges of fibre rather than little tiny bits of foam which flatten within about 10 minutes). The shape of the round emoticon pillow once squeezed, bounces straight back into shape as it has a slight resistance. Really superb quality.
But the attention to detail doesn’t stop at the large cushions. Looking at the shelf buddy, again the stitching is perfect, you cannot see the stitching on the face and the bottom has a small part full of beans to keep the buddy balanced. All the marks of an item from a company that wants to satisfy their customers.
I think my favourite from the range has to be the slippers though. I have a pair of the Horny Devil Foot Cushions. Medium is a size 5-8 and they are a lovely fit (my feet are slightly wider than usual) and although they are super soft and velour, they are very light, once you put them on they’re lovely and warm. Not wool warm which would make you sweat but duvet warm, they have a snuggly feel to them. I thought when I looked at the sole that they were going to be a bit cold as ones I’ve worn previously (gorilla feet slippers to name one) has had a similar bottom BUT the base of these ones seems to have a much harder foam which when you stand on them don’t flatten so you feel the cold floor beneath. Nope, these seem to have a more dense foam filling for the sole against cheaper models which justifies the higher price.
If you haven’t got the females in your life a stocking filler to make her laugh, or you want to tell the girl you’re working with that you think she’s kind of cute, then pop over to Love Bomb Cushions and spoil her rotten with emoticons to say just what you’re too scared too and she’ll think you’re instantly loveable, much like their range of goodies!
