Easter was upon us so first out of the box was 2 delightful packets of Lindt Lindor Mini Eggs. Chocolate. Need I say more? Ok then. They were lush. Wrapped in 3 different colour wrappings a mix of white, dark and milk solid mini eggs. Love the idea that they’re individually wrapped too because it meant you could take a few and put the rest away without them going funny (not that they’d last that long to go funny in this house anyway).
The sweets just kept on coming with the Berry Mix from Bassetts. This is the one item I cannot say no to. Jelly Babies have and always will be my favourite jelly sweet. I don’t care what colour they are really as they are all my favourites but if you do have an aversion to the greens and yellows (just like my sister Jannica does) then this is the pack for you. Bursting with berry goodness of Blackcurrant, Raspberry and Strawberry deemed “Summer flavours” although I think lemon and lime are a lot more Summery! Amazing sweets. Juicy, sweet and my favourite.
Not so much my favourite but Andy’s are Maynards Sour Patch sweets. I can’t stand anything sour. I love citrus flavours but as long as they have a sweet element but sour sweets do not float my boat at all. Andy snatched them off me when he saw what they were and devoured them over the next few days. He’s pretty safe eating these as there’s no way I’d ask for one or even pinch one out the packet. He’s a glutton for tastebud punishment.
Although it’s not BBQ time yet the sauce we received will be getting lots of use when it is. Exclusive to Degustabox at the moment the delightful Original Bayrische BBQUE sauce is a fruity sauce to smother any of your burgers and chips with. A lot like a calorie free sauce that we use from Waltons this sauce is really gorgeous – especially on quiche (unless I’m weird of course).
Pasquier Bacon Bread Bites. Fab in a salad but as a packet for a snack – not for me. They’re nice on their own but when we added them to our salad of baby leaves and lemon/mustard dressing with a sprinkle of Parmesan they were much, much better. Good for soups too.
Kent’s Kitchen normally fills me with dread as I can never work out the calories on their meal kits but this time we received a pot of Posh Noodles. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind these dry snack pots when you’re not at home for lunch but if I’m at home I prefer making something from scratch. Still it tasted amazing. It was supposed to be a Spicy Szechaun noodle but it was just a lightly spiced one which surprised me as I tend to avoid anything Szechaun after a very nasty run in with a Szechaun prawn which was so spicy it took my tastebuds with it for a while. 222 calories a pot which is amazing for noodles too.
Jordan’s Lighter Granola with Strawberries and Blueberries. Turns your milk grey but is super fruity. I was naughty as I loved the first bowl so much I had a second. Not so great for the waistline but definitely better than the original version for calories. Yum!
2 different types of drinks for Andy and I this time. Non Alcoholic for me being Juice Burst Skinny Mango and Lime Juice and Juice Burst Cranberry Juice. The Skinny Mango bottle was a lot thinner than the other bottle which is why I guess the calories are a lot lower. Ideal if you just want a drink under 100 calories as you can grab and go with the Skinny Mango. Cranberry is nice but a little weak for my taste. Still it’s all goodness being Juice Burst and having been big fan of these in the past, I will continue to be just won’t be buying the smaller bottle for the same money.
Andy couldn’t wait to open the Crabbies and with me loving Black Cherry I was tempted to hide it away so I could have it (even though I’d get tummy cramp from the alcohol). It smelt amazing when he opened it. Sweet and fruity. Looked beautiful when he poured it too. I loved the fragrance and he loved the taste. Told me it reminded him of cherry Tunes (although I wouldn’t have wanted a glass full of those thanks). Raspberry and Rhubarb surprised him too as he was expecting it to be bitter but it wasn’t. He said it was like a very sweet rhubarb crumble.
Finally we received a sachet of Natvia Natural Sources Sweetener. Having been a huge fan of Truvia this was quite a let down for me. I was expecting it to be just as sweet but it wasn’t. 1 sachet is about a quarter of the sweetness of Truvia and to make the drink to my taste it would need at least 4 of the sachets which probably isn’t economical enough. Still had the burnt taste though which seems synonymous with Stevia leaf products but I’m used to that and love it when I have a Latte as it adds a little something to the drink.
